A Celebration of Life Through Images

Mary Pat is best known for her children and family beach portraits. Her focus is always on capturing not only what can be seen, but what can be felt in each portrait. She makes each session relaxed and fun for the entire family and her photographs reflect this casual style. Her studio is located in the historic district of Cape May.

There will be some changes this year...and sessions may be limited. After 32 years in business, Mary Pat will be spending a little more time traveling, enjoying the summer and devoting time to a new artistic endeavor (more on that soon)! She will no longer offer wedding photography and will be phasing out in-studio portraiture. However, beach photography is her passion and she will continue to specialize in beach and Cape May location sessions!

I'm Mary Pat Myers, a professional photographer lucky enough to live and work in this quaint seaside town.  This year marks my 32nd year of  creating portrait memories for my clients.  It has been an honor and I am blessed to do what I love everyday.  I'd love to create  something special for you too!

A little bit more about me...

It's so nice to
meet you

About Mary Pat

More Kind Words

We had the BEST EXPERIENCE from first contact to picking up our portrait, book and photos.  Mary Pat was a joy to work with, very personable and exceptionally professional.  She made everyone feel so relaxed, she knew the exact perfect beach and time of day that had the best lighting to capture the perfect memories.  Our finished portrait, book and photos far exceeded our expectations!!  We will definitely be hiring Mary Pat again as our family continues to grow!
Thank you, Mary Pat!

My family and I had the pleasure of meeting Mary Pat for a photo session for my parent's 50th anniversary gift.

Mary Pat has a kind, easy way that made everyone feel comfortable right away.  There were nine of us (including four teenagers) and she learned all of our names within the first few minutes.  In all of our communications,  Mary Pat responded quickly to every email and request.  She even had our photos available for previewing the very next day!  The pictures are beautiful and we all had a great time.  Thanks, Mary Pat!

I had an exceptional experience working with Mary Pat.

My husband and I were to renew our vows at sunset late April, the weather was most unpredictable and needless to say there was no sunset but there was rain and lots of it.  Mary Pat offered her studio as our backdrop for the officiant and pictures that day and she also made herself available the next morning when the weather cleared.  Since we are not local to the area, she made what could have been an uneventful day to a happy ending which we will talk bout for the next 25 years!  She really is all about the personal touch. We can't say enough about how grateful we were.
She was our silver lining!

from the clients

I had a family vacation and we decided to get some REAL pictures taken with MP Myers.

She was fantastic and we had a great time.  We had 4 kids with us (6,4,3, 11 months)and she managed to wrangle them all and even got them to smile!  The only problem we had was deciding which of all the beautiful photos we wanted to keep.  Horrible decision because they were all so fantastic!

Mary Pat did an absolutely wonderful job photographing our family on the beach.

I highly recommend her!!  We all arrived in Cape May a day later than we planned, harried and exhausted from our various travel experiences, including the partial closing of the NJ Turnpike for 2 hours.  We didn't know whether we would "lose the sun" and have to re-schedule...rain was a real possibility.  Mary Pat was on the phone with us, guiding us every step of the way, so accommodating and so the last minute the sun broke through and she said, "let's go for it!"  Twenty minutes later, she was working her magic on the beach, napping away seamlessly.  She created an album of truly wonderful candids and lovely natural poses.  She has a knack for beautiful lighting and composition.  We loved her presentation of the photos at her studio and she made the ordering process so easy.  And most importantly, she ensured our complete satisfaction with the final product!
She's a gem!

With 20 people, 10 of which were children, you can imagine  how difficult it seemed like it would be to get everyone looking good at the same time.  Mary Pat accomplished that and so much more!  Her patience and understanding made everyone relaxed and made it a truly enjoyable experience.  If I were to do it again, which I hope I can, I would never consider anyone else but Mary Pat to be our photographer.  You will not be disappointed.  I promise.

Both times it was the highlight of our trip!  I smile every time we see the portraits hanging in our house. Mary Pat is kind, patient and an amazing photographer!  I can't say enough wonderful things about her.

My Favorite Sessions

the front porch project

During the pandemic I met a man walking the streets of Cape May  looking for the food.  I wanted to do something to help.
We created  the Front Porch Project and my husband and I began photographing families during quarantine  in their front yards in exchange for a promise of a donation to our local food banks.  Many weeks and hundreds of sessions later we raised awareness of food insecurities and raised donations for a great cause.
We now we count our blessings
and humbly thank everyone who helped those in need.
